Caber
The Caber toss is the signature event of the Heavy Events. A Caber is a log that is about 20 feet long and weighs around 150 pounds. The athlete balances the Caber on its end and lifts the small end with both hands. After a quick run, they stop abruptly, causing the larger end to tip forward. The athlete then pulls up on the small end to flip the Caber. A judge scores the toss based on an imaginary clock. A perfect toss is when the small end of the Caber points directly away from the athlete, with the athlete standing at the 6:00 position and the Caber aligned at 12:00.

Scottish Hammer
The Scottish Hammer is a heavy metal ball that weighs either 16 or 22 pounds. It is attached to a wooden handle and is thrown for distance. The athlete stands with their back to the throwing direction. They cannot spin and must keep their feet fixed to the ground using long spikes on their boots. This helps them stay stable as the hammer swings around their head quickly. The athlete swings the hammer around their head as fast as they can and releases it at top speed. The best professional athletes can throw the 22-pound hammer over 115 feet!

Broken Caber
Broken Caber is an advisor board for Adaptive Athletes. At Rocketcity Scottish Festival and Highland Games we are working with Broken Caber and Matt Hall to eventually host an adaptive championship. Brokencaber.org
